However, it will not show the total cost of the chair.
The designer, who has also made jewelry for Gaga, 26, but has yet to meet the star, said the chairman does not take modern technology. It is not electrically powered, for example.
“The most important thing was to do something that is fit for a queen, as Gaga’s,” Borochov said.
Before her surgery to repair a tear in her hip, Gaga told fans that she could not walk, and was spotted with a run-of-the-mill wheelchair, which she called “Emma”.
It is unclear whether Gaga is actually using the golden wheelchair to get around, or whether it is simply a trendy fashion accessory.
Turns out it could well be exactly that: The whole thing is covered in 24-karat gold.
Gaga’s stylist contacted jewelry designer Ken Borochov and include gold-plated chair, giving him notice just a week to create it, according to the Daily Beast.
“It was a great company,” Borochov told the Daily Beast.
The chair with tufted black leather seats and removable leather canopy covers 1.5 ounces of gold plating, which alone is worth about $ 2,400. “I wanted [it] to look like a throne,” Borochov said.
